Pulsed Light Technology

A non-surgical, non-invasive cosmetic procedure, AFT technology uses gentle pulses of light to safely and effectively eliminate years of sun damage, redness and brown pigmentation, literally “turning back the clock.” This treatment works to rejuvenate the skin by enhancing dull or gray complexions as well as smoothing out uneven pigmentation, reducing the appearance of large pores and even improving symptoms of Rosacea—a skin disorder characterized by severe redness.

How AFT Pulsed Light Technology Works

AFT photorejuvenation uses a series of uniquely shaped light pulses that gently penetrate the top layers of the skin to break up any lesions or vessels, allowing the body to undergo its natural healing process. Because the treatment was developed to specifically heat the intended target spot, the surrounding areas won’t experience any damage or discomfort. Skin will appear even-toned, healthy, and youthful.

What to Expect

Each AFT photorejuvenation session lasts anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes. First the treated area is cleansed and a cooling gel is applied to the skin. The light pulses are then delivered, improving the look and texture of the treated area. Once the process is complete, the cooling gel is removed.

The procedure requires no anesthesia. The initial treatment may not be as aggressive as your following treatments so as not to possibly damage the skin and to determine your skin’s tolerance for further photo facial treatments. Photo facial treatments are usually performed every 3-4 weeks. Most patients require 4-5 AFT treatment sessions for maximum results. Follow-up sessions may also be recommended by your provider for maintenance.

Downtime and Side Effects

Since AFT pulsed light technology treatments are less invasive than other procedures, such as chemical peels or deep laser resurfacing, there is no downtime and patients may resume daily activities immediately.

Side effects are extremely rare. After a treatment, skin may appear red and pigmented spots may look darker. It is important to limit sun exposure for several weeks prior to and after the procedure for best results.

Pre-Treatment Instructions

Make sure you are not using an Retinol or Retin-A at least 3-5 days prior to treatment and make sure you are not currently pregnant, nursing or an any antibiotics at least 10 days prior to treatment. Please do not stop any medications without consulting your Doctor first. It is very important that you have been out of direct sunlight exposure for at least 1 week prior and are not using and self tanner of any kind. Also a friendly reminder that children are not able to be with you in the treatment room or left unattended in our lobby. Two to four weeks before your IPL treatment please avoid ALL direct sun exposure, tanning beds, self-tanning lotions and sunless spray tans. Pigment from either the sun, tanning beds, or self tanners can absorb more energy from the IPL and can lead to complications such as burns and discomfort. Please shave the night before your treatment if you are having your legs or arms treated with the IPL or you are a man having IPL treatment of your face/neck/arms/legs/hands/back/chest Hair absorbs extra energy from the IPL and can lead to complications such as burns and discomfort. Please do NOT wear any makeup to your IPL appointment (if you are having your face treated). Makeup can absorb more energy from the IPL and can lead to complications such as burns and discomfort.

  • Please arrive on time for your appointment to allow us to keep our providers on schedule and arrive 10 minutes early for a Med Spa appointment to allow time for any medical forms we may need completed.
  • Any guest at or more than 10 minutes late for an appointment can be rescheduled automatically.
  • In the event that you need to cancel your appointment we request 24 hours notice so that we may accommodate the needs of other clients. In case of a same day cancellation or if you were to not show up for your appointment, you may be subject to a $25 fee.
  • We can request a client put an active credit card on file for chronic scheduling issues or any services that take up a provider's schedule in length.
  • Some services do require consultations prior and this does not guarantee treatment.
  • Non appearance for a gift card appointment may result in 100% of the service fee being charged against the gift card.
  • Due to necessary home care we provide a 48 hour guarantee on most services as long as recommended home care products were used.
  • Additional manufacturer guarantees may apply.
  • Product purchases may be exchanged within 14 days. Hair pieces, brushes & gift cards cannot be returned or exchanged. Gift Card purchases will be returned as an account credit only, never given back as cash. Cash purchases will be an account credit to use on future purchases, services or product.
  • We will happily reschedule your appointment if you have unsupervised children that are not receiving services. This is for their safety & the relaxation of our guests. Thank you for your cooperation.
  • Please ensure your cell phone is on silent when entering the spa so any treatments and services being performed and other guests are not interrupted.
  • Gratuities are always welcome, never required and are never part of your service total.

  • Monthly specials are only valid within the time frame specified and services must be rendered within that time frame.
